A Friend Has Written to You Asking for Advice About a Problem at Work You Have Had a Similar Problem (1)

A friend has written to you asking for advice about a problem at work you have had a similar problem in the past. Write a reply to your friend. In your letter:

Dear Maria,

How have you been? It’s been so long since we’ve talked. I was quite happy to see your letter. However, after going through it, I was concerned about the challenges you’re facing right now at your workplace. I understand you are having frequent burnouts as you’re highly occupied with work, and it’s getting in over your head.

I was in the same situation, and I was as frustrated as you seem to be. At one point, I was doing overtime as I was assigned multiple
objects to work on. Though these types of projects have great learnings, they gradually start making you directionless as you’re unable to focus on a single task when you’re bombarded with additional work.

I would suggest you discuss with your manager regarding your bandwidth problem and highlight that the work-life balance is getting affected. Moreover, you see a direct implication on your productivity if you try following multiple things simultaneously. Try prioritizing your tasks concerning the deadlines set; your team leads should help you with buffer time whenever needed. It would be helpful to raise these points in your upcoming connect for clarifications and consideration of the above solutions.

Hope my suggestions work out for you. Do Let me know if you need anything else.

Yours Truly,
