Sample Answer: Countries Should Produce Enough Food for Their Population and Import as Little as Possible

It is argued that every country should cultivate enough food for its own citizens and import as little food as possible from abroad. This essay agrees with this statement because this trend will escalate the employment rate within the territories and the economy.

This situation will increase rapidly employment rate due to the fact that the farming sector will be the significant way for the entire population in a country to receive food, so big organizations will establish a company for farming so residents will be employed to aid as workers to prepare some activities inside the farming area so that in the end of the month they earn some income which would help in their daily life expenditures. Zimbabwe, a state in Africa, is a good example of this; a few years ago, the president of that time, the late Mugabe, implemented a law to ban the importing of food from outside the border and started the policy government and other private investors should buy food in local farmers so that the money could stay inside the territory and would help another area.

On the other hand, this will boost the economy as the farming industry increases in number. They will pay taxes similar to the workers as they get salaries, so this will increase money movement in the country, and these are vital things in our economy at the highest level. For example, Zimbabwe was previously on the list of the poorest countries listed by the United Nations, but when it initiated this policy, the country’s economy escalated after some time. Currently, they’re off the list.

To conclude, countries should produce enough food for their own people and import as little as possible. This would have a positive impact on escalating the employment rate and the economy.
