I have a friend, she is currently in her late 30, her name is Ruth, we grew up together in the same neighbourhood, in Port Harcourt city, attended the same high school, Greenville High School, she gains admitted to a different university, she never knew I had a part-time job with the SSS, which is State Security Service, it is jobs that fight against criminal activities when she asks me about my place of work, I told her I work in a shopping mall, but the first day we had intimacy, decided to open up to her about the place I work and the nature of my job.

She was appalled and, at the same time, happy that I was in a job that fights against criminals, helping the government to reduce the crime rate; I cautioned her not to reveal it to anybody.

I tell her the truth because I got to understand that she has not kept anything from me, she opened up everything about herself, and more importantly, I have decided to live the rest of my life with her, as in married to her, keep lying to her about the nature of my job is not the best for intended couples to be. Hence I told her the truth.

Answer – Yes, in my opinion, people should sometime tell lies, depending on the situation at hand; if one is facing danger, as in under the domain of criminals, it is good you tell the criminals lies just to gain your freedom. Early this year, someone was kidnapped when the parents were contacted for ransom to be paid. The criminals asked if they had informed the police about the incidents. The parents lied, telling them no, but the police were already informed, and that act facilitated the arrest of the criminals.
