In our day-to-day life, there are astonishing moments we may wait for it to happen. Fortunately or unfortunately dramatically, it may happen on time. Today I would like to talk about such a situation, and it happened last decade. After completing our post-graduation, I had got several chances to attend numerous interviews with my friends. But as freshers, nobody cannot ready to occupy us. On that particular day with my two friends, I went for an interview at Ernakulam. We reached there before committed time.
It was a bright sunny day. After initial screening, three called for the second stage of the interview. After completing the second phase, board members insisted we wait for another half an hour. After half an hour, they revealed that three of us were selected for the final screening for that we must wait until the afternoon because they had to interview the rest of the other candidates. After showing an appalling crowd, two of my friends did not have any hope, and they planned for the return journey.
But I stick on there in the afternoon. After long waiting hours, I really felt exhausted and feel like a fish out of water. In between, I had my lunch, and I just visited a nearby shopping mall because I had to wait for hours to interact with them. But they connected me at exactly 4.00 pm and revealed that with three of the others I had selected for joining their organization within one month.
It was really rigorous to believe, and I was at cloud nine. I felt extremely incredible at that time and butterflies in my stomach. Maybe that was one of the enthralling moments I waited so long. Still, I remember I did not wait long hours rather than that.

So long a time, when I was waiting for university admission. I had written the entrance exam about eight months before the university finally offered admission, the reason being that after the entrance exam, the institution went on six months strike in order to show their dissatisfaction with the government refusing to pay workers salaries. During this period, I was so anxious about whether the university will offer admission or not.
Also, I felt unhappy with the strike action as it is the main cause of the delay. After waiting for like two months and the higher citadel of learning refused to suspend strike or give a response to my application, I engaged in vocational training so as not to remain idle. At that time, I learnt how to style hair which I thought would help me to generate money when I get admitted for tertiary education. Apart from empowering myself, I also used that period for self-development.
I assessed myself and identified my deficiency, then worked on the inadequacy. I had to wait for admission because I only applied to one institution as it had been my dream to study in that institution. In addition, no other university was offering admission at that time, so I didn’t have any other option than to wait.

Question 1:- On what occasions do people usually need to wait?
Answer 1:- In our life, we have to wait minutes to hours on plenty of occasions. Like airports, petrol pumps, cinema, railway stations are the famous places people may have to wait. In addition, years before our prime minister, they have banned currency notes, poor people lineup kilometres in front of the banks to exchange their currencies.
Answer 2:- Most people have to experience a waiting period at one time in their lives. When basic needs or essential things are not available as at the time need, therefore someone has to wait for it. For example, when someone needs a car, and another person promises to get him one, he has to wait for it until it happens.
Question 2:- Who behaves better when waiting for children or adults?
Answer 1:- Of course, adults may behave fantabulously. They know how to act and behave in front of the public, and they forcefully obey the rules. On the other hand, children may lose their patience immediately, and they get distracted.
Answer 2:- Adults behave better during waiting periods than children. When children are promised or need something, they are always eager to have the thing, they are never calm when waiting, but adults will use maturity or find another thing to do to divert their attention from their expectations.
Question 3:- Compared to the past, are people less patient now? Why?
Answer 1:- In my opinion, Compared with the olden days, the new generation does not show patients. They had excellent facilities and time to do as per exact ides. But in the olden days, they do not have time and facilities. They only had experience and classical ideas with them. They simply solve all the issues and cross every barrier in their life with their practical brilliance.
Answer 2:- In recent times, people have been less patient than before due to the increased rate of competition among individuals. People always want to have everything they want at the same time.
Question 4:- What are the positive and negative effects of waiting on society?
Answer 1:- Waiting on society had both positive and negative impacts. First, we lost our valuable time. Nothing can replace with time. Secondly, after waiting minutes by minutes, we lost our patience. On the other hand, it was time to review others. Secondly, We can utilize our time effectively. For example, we can listen to music, read books and chat with other fellow members.
Answer 2:- Positively, waiting gives people the opportunity to channel their energy and focus on other things while they are waiting. Negatively, it can cause depression for some people if the waiting is too long. It can cause idleness especially when the person doesn’t have any other thing to do as at the time of waiting and an idle hand is a devil tool.
