Question 1:- Do you usually write by hand or write using a computer?

Answer:- I do use a computer keyboard or type on my smartphone as there is no need to write something on paper. Even assignments are to be submitted online because of the lockdown due to the pandemic situation.

Question 2:- Nowadays, how do most people write things?

Answer:- Usually, most people prefer the keyboard or smartphones rather than writing manually on paper with a pen. This is because the fact that the mistake can be easily corrected just by pressing a single ‘backspace’ button, and no need for an eraser out to strike it on the note.

Question 3:- Do you often write with a pen?

Answer:- As a matter of fact, I rarely use a pen. Most of the purpose I use a pen is to sign any document which cannot be signed virtually.

Question 4:- Do you think handwriting is important nowadays?

Answer:- Absolutely not. During childhood, teachers used to provide homework and impositions in order to improve our handwriting. But in the present scenario, no one is writing anything with the pen as the usage of digital media is increasing. Thus most of the writings are done using an application with the help of a keyboard.

Question 5:- Do you think computers might one day replace handwriting?

Answer:- Definitely, I do believe so. As the number of people is getting reduced who write with the pen, the usage of electronic devices like computers and smartphones is increasing. Hence every print of notes obtained from such devices look similar, and thus they replace handwriting in the near future.

Question 6:- Is your handwriting easy to read for other people?

Answer:- Surely, my handwriting is easily readable. And I am proud of my handwriting. Teachers in my elementary school used to talk about my handwriting as I got such a wonderful style. But I am now sad that that gift of handwriting is not being used by me and depends on electronic devices.

Question 7:- What impression does a person’s handwriting have on other people? Can we tell someone’s personality from their handwriting?

Answer:- Actually, it is a common belief that the personality of a person could be forecasted with the help of his handwriting. But frankly speaking, I don’t believe it. This can simply be explained with the help of a phrase, “Never judge a book by its cover.” This implies that even if the handwriting of a person is amazing, his character may be spoiled.

Question 8:- When do children begin to write in your country?

In my country, children usually start to write letters from their kindergarten. But by reaching only at the level of lower primary, they are provided with pen replacing pen. This is also containing a message that you are entering an age where some mistakes cannot be corrected, like rubbing with an eraser.

Question 9:- How did you learn to write?

Answer:- My teachers taught me how to write. At first, they held my hands inside their hands and dragged my hands through some lines reading the letter. And given homework to practice at home. At home, my parents did the same at the beginning. Thus, I started to learn and write my own.

Question 10:- How can children today improve their handwriting?

Answer:- To improve handwriting, there exists only one method, by writing physically with the pen; instead of using electronic gadgets. With the usage of electronic devices, they become lazier and lazier to write on paper.

Question 11:- Did you like writing things when you were a child?

Answer:- Absolutely, I used to like writing with a pen during my childhood. Parents used to scold me for writing in the newspaper and other important office papers of them as I got a pen. And of course, I used to cry a lot to get a pen from then so that I could draw or write on paper or walls with it.

Question 12:- Do you think children should be taught to write like in the old days?

Answer:- Yes, Of course. Children must be taught to write like in the old days because most of the handwriting is got lost, and the future generation may find it difficult to read certain documents which are written in hand. By repeated usage of printing letters, they will not be aware of the cursive letters, and they might find it difficult to understand their contents.

Question 13:- Do you think handwriting will die in the future?

Answer:- Definitely. If the usage of the digital medium is further continued, the handwriting will be completely lost from the culture. This can only be controlled by reducing the usage of the keyboard and by providing strict guidelines to write it with pen on paper.
