Academic Writing Task 1

The table below gives information about a restaurant’s average sales in three different branches in 2016.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

 

SAMPLE ANSWER:

The table graph reveals information regarding the sale of a restaurant in its three distinct branches in Vancouver in the year 2016.
From an overall perspective, it can be seen that a branch of Georgia Street had ahead among other branches in all things. On the other hand, a branch in Drake street was least popular among the people of Vancouver.
At first glance, it is surprising to see that number of transactions was 854 in the Georgia Street branch; however, 750 and 390 Dynsmuir street and Drake street respectively. There was a significant difference in transaction value between the branch of Georgia Street and Dunsmuir street. Moreover, the number of Eat in transactions was a twofold in Georgia Street than Drake street about 405.
Moving on further, one interesting thing about three branches is that they had 3 different most popular items. Chicken Burger was popular at Georgia Street, chicken wings at Dynsmuir street, and Drake street branch had chicken pasta. Furthermore, the Georgia Street branch accounted for 449 number of takeaway transactions, while 190 by Drake street branch and Dynsmuir street had it 392.

You recently bought a camera while traveling overseas. When you got to your destination you discovered that some important items were missing from the box.

Write a letter to the local representative of the company. In your letter

Dear Sir/Madam

I am writing this letter to express my worry about the battery charger and cover which were not in the box that had a camera.

Let me explain that I was traveling from Toronto airport to Sydney. At the Toronto airport, I purchased a camera. It was a Samsung DSLR of black color and I bought it from the Samsung store at the airport. There was a discount on cameras. So, it does not cost me as an arm and a leg.

Moreover, when I reached Sydney; I was taken aback by seeing the box empty except for the camera. It had no charger and cover as well as I was assured to give it with the camera.

Would you be kind enough to deliver the rest of the accessories for the camera at my address? Now, it seems impossible for me to go back to your store at the Toronto airport. I attached a copy of the receipt with this letter for your information.

Genetic engineering is a dangerous trend. It should be limited.

To what extent do you agree?

SAMPLE ANSWER:

n the ultra modem epoch, it is a moot point that the development of genetic engineering has several hazardous consequences; therefore, it needs to be curtailed. A significant chunk of the community welcomes the conception, whereas the remaining members oppose the same. This essay of min will shed light on my personal standpoint.
I am in agreement to a large extent with the aforementioned notion. Multifarious reasons can be discussed to justify my stance. The most conspicuous one is the dangerous outcomes of changing the genes of a child. In other words, parents want to choose their children’s characteristics before they borm. It is against our ethics of life, which might lead to the destruction of society’s moral values and rules. Additionally, genetically modified plants have little nutritional value. As a result, it might cause problems for the human’s body in the long term.
My viewpoint can be made evident by adding a few more arguments. The ecosystem of Earth will be affected by altering the genes of living animals. Some of them might live longer and disrupt the lifecycle of death and born.
On the other hand, I do have some grounds against the central idea. First and foremost, genetically modified crops grow faster and bigger. Hence, it can help farmers to fulfill the need for foods, especially in the  developing countries. Secondly, inherited ailments can be omitted by modification of genes. Consequently, humans can live longer and have healthier lives than in the past.
To put it in a nutshell, I personally believe that limiting genetic experiments is better for humans and ecosystems; however, the latter notion should not be glossed over.

People should always keep learning something new does not matter what it is. I consider myself as a knowledge seeker person and here I would like to talk about a country that I would like to learn more about. It is Mexico. Mexico is situated in North America and shares the border with the USA. There are a number of reasons due to which I would like to learn about this specific country.

The very first would be of its beauty. Mexico has a significant number of beautiful beaches with a picturesque view. Moreover, the fascinating fact about this country is its traditional values and moral values by which I mean there are no old age homes for elderly and families take care of their old family members at home does not matter how busy they are. The economy of the country is booming, and the number of forex traders is coming out of this country.

I came to know about this country about 3 years ago when I was new to Canada. So yeah this is pretty much everything about the country which I want to learn more about.
