News: IELTS Speaking Introduction Questions With Answers
Question 1: Do you often watch the news in the morning?
Of course not. I am not watching the news because I have little free time at the beginning of the day. However, I listen to the news via the radio station Times Radio. On my way to work every morning, I drive while listening to the radio news via my smart speaker inside my car.
Question 2: How do you stay informed about current events?
Nowadays, it is kind of hard to stay updated on current events. Hopefully, the rise of social media will help residents stay up to date on news and events that occur every day across the country and even sometimes around the globe.
Question 3: Do you prefer reading, watching, or listening to the news?
I love watching the news because it helps me understand what happened. However, it’s not impossible for me nowadays to get comfortable watching the news on a big screen. Instead, I listen to the radio via the Times Radio app on my smartphone to listen to the news and continue with my usual routine simultaneously.
Question 4: What impact does following the news have on your daily life?
I believe it is essential for everyone to stay up to date on events that happen every day, as it keeps people aware of what is going on in and outside the country. For example, the variation of national currency and the price of other foreign currencies in the global market, without the following news, getting up-to-date rates of those currencies will be challenging.
Question 5: Have you ever considered becoming a journalist?
No way. I am not built for the media industry because I’m an introvert. I can not socialise easily, as it takes me time to get comfortable in any situation at the beginning. The journalism industry needs people to get along with strangers more easily than they can imagine, so I’m not good at getting along with strangers, which could mean I miss a lot of news.
