Sample Answer: Some People Think Competition at Work, at School and Daily Life Is a Good Thing
Certain individuals believe that rivalry at work, in school, and in daily activities is essential. Others think that people should endeavour to collaborate more instead of competing with each other. This essay will discuss both views and my opinion.
First and foremost, competition at work, in school and in daily activities has many benefits, including the enhancement of cognitive capabilities. Competing against each other in their work environment, school, and daily life puts them ten steps ahead of others. For example, competition among students makes them smarter, sharpens their sights and widens their horizons, with each person trying their best to become better than others. Secondly, competition among workers, students, etc., makes one very effective and efficient. Some rivalry comes with rewards, which can be monetary or gifts. This makes people go the extra lengths to prove themselves and show how capable they can be.
However, while competing against each other has some merits, it also comes with demerits, one of which is low self-esteem. The individual who loses becomes devastated and depressed and can no longer believe in himself or herself. Some people do not know how to manage their emotions, and this can affect them negatively.
In conclusion, I strongly believe that competition in the workplace, school premises, and daily activities is a good thing because it helps individuals become better versions of themselves, enhances intellectual abilities, and promotes efficiency in all they do.
