Some People Think that Environmental Problems Are Too Big for Individuals to Solve

Some people think that environmental problems are too big for individuals to solve, while others think that the government cannot solve these environmental problems unless individuals make some action. Discuss both views and give your opinion. Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

It has been argued that solving environmental hazards is not a cup of tea for individuals alone, while others consider that solving this issue without the help of individuals is a herculean task for any government, so mass involvement is essential. In my perspective, the collective efforts of the government and ordinary people can sort out this predicament.

First off, those who opine that mitigating environmental issues is tough for human beings because they do not take a proactive approach. To elaborate, they burn plastic despite the fact that it has carcinogenic effects on nature. They do not stop doing activities, which have a direct impact on their physical surroundings. They take action only when they find no alternatives for it or the situation is out of control for them. To exemplify it, many times it has been told the people to recycle plastic bottles or other unwanted items. They consider it a difficult task to separate usable items and useless items. Their laziness exacerbates the situation, and they contribute to making their planet polluted.

On the other hand, detractors consider that this obstacle can be tackled with the collective efforts of the regime and the masses. Many a time, it has been noticed that government makes an appeal to people to say no to using plastic and using fewer fossil fuels. However, this appeal has sometimes no effect on the common people. This is the consequence of poor coordination between the policymakers and the public.

For instance, if there is a ban on hunting, then individuals must not do it. They must hold that birds or animals are conducive to saving the environment. Using fewer vehicles and sharing car-pooling is another benefit to reducing environmental pollution such as noise pollution. Therefore, if people consider it their responsibility; then, they can make a bigger difference, and their habitat will be a better place to live in.

To conclude, thus, it is apparent that individuals solely cannot solve this environmental problem; instead, it can be sorted out with the collaborative efforts of government and multitude. Policymakers must take stringent actions against the guilty, who spoil the environment and simultaneously persons must make it ensure to recycle and reuse to make their physical surroundings neat and clean.
