Some People Think that Museums Should Be Enjoyable Places to Entertain People

Some people think that museums should be enjoyable places to entertain people, while others believe that the purpose of museums is to educate. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

It is an incontestable fact that museums play a crucial role in students’ life and always generates a debatable discussion in the current aeon. Some individuals believe that a museum can also serve its purpose as a fun and entertainment zone, while others think that it is the place to attain knowledge. In the forthcoming paragraphs, this discourse explains the different perspectives of visiting museums and my certitude to the former stance with numerous illustrations.

To begin with, some parents and educational management feel that museums must provide not only knowledge but also inculcate fun activities. The modern changes in science and technological resources are placed in the exhibits such that children are updated on these latest inventions. For instance, it encourages pupils from nearby areas to conduct science competitions annually with regard to the new discoveries and the best projects are placed on the display for the public. Apart from this, they had established the set up of a planetarium within the premises. This eventually creates interest in adolescents to visit museums frequently. Thus, with the implementation of these latest changes, children are benefitted from knowledge as well as entertainment.

On the flip side, few people in the society believe that museums’ sole notion is to provide education. Firstly it is mandatory to preserve our ancestor’s lifestyle. They are the only place which contains the history of the origin of mankind. Hence it is our duty to protect the ancient artefacts rather than replacing with modern equipment. Secondly, it increases the mental ability of children with regular visits. For example, faculty members who teach history must volunteer and organize field trips, though it is seen as studious by some pupils. This gradually increases interest by practically explaining the livelihood of the generations over the centuries throughout the world.

To sum up, this essay has explained the significance of museums as a place to attain wisdom as well as for fun activities. Although, in my personal opinion, it is critical for kids and young adults to have entertainment along with their routine studies.
