Question: Do you think you are a polite person?

Ans: Yes, I think I’m a polite person. I don’t speak rudely with anyone. I try to help anyone who comes to me for help.

Ans: I don’t think anyone can show politeness. It just reflects in one’s behaviour.

Ans: People show politeness in many ways. Giving an elderly person your seat on the bus is one method of showing politeness. Standing up when the teacher comes into the class is another method of showing politeness.  Helping an elderly person cross the road is also a way of showing politeness.

Ans: Urban people are living a faster life. They have no time for showing politeness. On the other hand, life in the villages is slower. People help each other and spend time with each other. So it can be said that rural people are more polite.

Ans: Old and young people to show politeness in different ways. Old people can show politeness by not being mad at children when they’re making noise. Young people can show politeness by giving the elderly their seat

Ans: I think the attitude of both is the same, but the way of showing politeness is different

Yes, people are a lot more polite with non-family members, because they take their family members for granted and expect that they would not mind even if they are not very polite to them

Ans: As life has become faster, politeness has slipped away from people’s minds. They are so busy in their own life that they hardly find time to show politeness.

Ans: If the nations of the whole world showed respect to other nations, then life would become very harmonious and beautiful.

Politeness is talking softly with everyone; politeness is sitting with the elderly and giving them company; politeness is helping a blind man cross the road; politeness is greeting others with a happy face; politeness is in small good gestures that make others happy.

Yes, at times, it is possible to have social politeness and friendliness at the same time. For example, one may just help another person out of politeness and then start a friendly talk with him.

Parents can teach their children to be polite by setting an example in front of them. If parents are polite, children automatically learn politeness.

There are no special classes on politeness, but children do learn politeness by observing their teachers and parents.

Sometimes, the government has to appeal to the people to be patient and polite. This happens especially on festivals, when people drink and forget what it is right or wrong.

The government uses the help of media, such as TV or radio, to make people aware.

No, not always! Sometimes a white light also has to be spoken. For example, recently, my six-year-old niece drew a flower that was not very nice, but I told her it was very beautiful because I didn’t want to hurt her feelings.

I think there are no gender differences as far as hiding one’s feelings is concerned. Some men are good at hiding their feelings, and some women are capable of hiding their feelings. So, it is not a question of gender.

Question: Do you think pretending to smile is polite?

Yes, sometimes pretending to smile is polite, especially when you do not want the other person to feel hurt by knowing that you are sad.
