I really wanted to learn karate. I want to join classes for this. There is a class nearby my place where they teach karate. In that classes, it is not like the age limit. They take students up to 35yrs. There are a few of my friends who were taking coaching over there. From them, I came to know about this class. I want this to learn as I feel that every girl should know self-defence. And this is one of the required things as per circumstance nowadays. There are many casualties that happen with girls, and there are two reasons that I want to learn is I can be self-dependent. Also, my daughter wants to be an army person, so if I do something unique, she will definitely get motivated by me. And she will stick with her dream to prove it correct. I want to be an inspiration for my daughter. So I want to be a karate champion.

I am not proficient in any of the skills that I have. I would like to improve my dancing skills. I became interested in dance during my college time as my best friend was a passionate dancer. She is an excellent dancer and had taught me to dance in college. I couldn’t do well as I hadn’t danced before. I lost my touch with dance now. For improving this further, I would like to go to one dance institute in Kochi. I had taken this decision because my best friend had called me recently and we were sharing our old memories in college, and she asked me if I am practising dance now. This made me realise that I had lost touch with this skill. I’m thankful to my friend for opening up my mind. I would dedicate my time effectively to this skill and would like to continue it along with my profession.

Question 1:- What age will make it difficult for a person to learn a skill?

Answer 1:- After the age of 40, after this age, people become strict with their rules. They do not like to gain their knowledge. For them, what they do is correct, so if we try to teach them new things, they will definitely get angry or ignore us. So after the age of 40, it becomes tuff to teach new skills to individuals.

Answer 2:- People find it difficult to learn new skills with the increase in age. Memory loss and health issues start when people become old, and this would be a restriction for them to learn a skill. For instance, parents and grandparents find using social media and mobile phones a complicated process.

Question 2:- Will the age of 5 or 20 be better for learning new skills?

Answer 1:- Up to the age of 5, children learn the basic required skills. That’s is basic skills. But after the age of 20, youngsters start learning the skills which are required to survive. That might be in terms of personal life or professional. In personal life, they tend to know how to behave, how to act how to become social. And in professional life, they learn many new things which require them to earn.

Answer 2:- Yes defines, children’s learning skills get developed by the age of 5. They would get the ability to learn and achieve talents by this age. Their imagination skills would also be developed. That’s why children are being sent to kindergarten and primary schools by this age. Also, the age of 20 is a time when a person becomes mature and would become a master in their areas of interest.

Question 3:- Who will you learn a skill from, friends, teachers or parents?

Answer 1:- Friends. Friends are the ones who can teach you any time, any place. The style of teaching in particular. As they know how we will understand easily. While to learn from parents become difficult as there is a difference in understanding. About the teachers, the way of teaching is the same for everyone. It does not differ from person to person. So to get knowledge from a friend is the most convenient way to learn a new skill.

Answer 2:- I would definitely learn new talents from my parents and friends because I have a good rapport with them. Both of them stood with me throughout my life till now.

Question 4:- What’s the difference between children learning what they like and learning what they have to learn?

Answer 1:- Profound change. Kids like to learn the thing to play only. They do not find any usefulness in that. And we as parents want to learn lessons which are crucial for them. For example, they do not understand the meaning of eating an apple. They just eat that for feeling up a hunger. But we have the Apple to get good nutrition.

Answer 2:- If children learn what they like, it would definitely help them to excel in that area. While on the other hand, if they have to learn something necessarily, they would show a lack of interest and enthusiasm.

Question 5:- Do you think boys and girls should learn the same skills?

Answer 1:- Yes. Nowadays, there are no gender problems. Both of them are treated with equality. For example, previously, it was like cricket was only a gentlemen’s game, but now girls are also doing well in this field. Similarly, there were no female pilots, but now women are also becoming pilots. For boys, cooking at home is art now. But years back, man is cooking was a bad thing for society. But now everything has changed. So both girls and boys should learn the same skills.

Answer 2:- There are some skills that both boys, as well as girls, have to learn in order to live in the current world. For instance, cooking is one of the skills that everyone should be taught. Other skills that they should learn depend on their personal. Choice.

Question 6:- Why do boys tend to have better critical thinking skills?

Answer 1:- Boys used to think my mind. They think about everything practically. On the other hand, girls think by heart. They take everything personally. There is no practicality in girls thinking. If there is any medical emergency, girls get panicked. But boys tend to take the situation very nicely. So yes, I do agree that boys have a good command of thinking when it is an emergency.

Answer 2:- I think boys have more critical thinking skills because of the exposure that they have gotten from the real world. But this doesn’t mean that girls are not able to excel in the same way.

Question 7:- Do you like to learn new skills constantly?

Answer 1:- Yes. I love to enhance my skills and explore them. I keep on searching on Google for activities that I do not know, and I never feel ashamed to ask anyone about the process of any new thing. Recently there was a new program launched in my company. I was not aware of it, so I took the idea from my junior. So it doesn’t matter to me who is in front of me; I just want to expand my knowledge.

Answer 2:- Yes, definitely. I keep myself updated with new technology skills in my career. This is essential to achieve a significant position in my career. I have recently learnt a technology named AWS from the training sessions conducted by our company. Apart from this, I have tried learning to play the guitar by watching youtube videos.

Question 8:- What’s the most difficult thing for learning?

Answer 1:- It is when there is a lack of guidance. It is as if we are doing a new thing, but the one who is teaching us himself is not able to explain it, and we can not learn a new thing. For example, if someone is teaching us a new software, but his own concepts are not clear, we can not learn it. And it makes it more difficult to understand.

Answer 2:- Dedication, Time management is an important factor in the learning process. We should be confident and should struggle to achieve success in the learning process. For instance, people might often experience failures in the learning process. But we shouldn’t revert back from reaching our destination.

Question 9:- What kinds of skills are practical for university students to learn?

Answer 1:- To project some important chapters on the big screen. Sometimes it happens that few topics are that difficult that no one understands if it is only theoretical. Few things need practical understanding. By that, they understand better.

Answer 2:- University students should have practical experience in all the subjects that they have opted for their curriculum. For example, a mechanical engineer should possess knowledge about the working of machines and handling of components. These skills are practical for them to learn and would help them for achieving a core job as well.

Answer 1:- Listening. Listening is a powerful way of communication. If one is cautious in listening, he can achieve many things in life.

Answer 2:- Some of the basic skills that a person should have is to manage time effectively. Financial management is also considered vital in order to live in the current world.

Question 11:- What is the most important practical skill in modern society?

Answer 1:- Understanding each other’s situation is a practical thing. Always it is not the same way of thinking as what we think. Sometimes it depends upon the situation and why a person is behaving like that. So instead of getting hurt, one needs to understand that person.

Answer 2:- To live happily in a society, a person should have driving skills, communication skills, social interaction with the community and should be there to solve the problems when someone is in trouble.

Question 12:- Which one is more important, cooking or driving a car?

Answer 1:- Cooking. Home food is good for health. And this is the most crucial thing to do as we can survive if we do not know driving although there are options like public transportation. For cooking, there is an option of outside food. But after some point of time, one gets tired to eat outside food. So cooking is an important thing to learn.

Answer 2:- Cooking and driving a car are independent skills. Both have their own relevance while living in a society. For example, if a person doesn’t know how to cook, they would struggle while living individually or as a family. Similarly, driving is also a skill that requires practice and hard work.

Question 13:- What kinds of skills are difficult to learn?

Answer 1:- That depends on person to person. Few people find driving a tuff thing, while others may feel using a mobile is the tuff thing. For example, my father faces difficulty in using an android phone. Similarly, I have a problem with using an old mobile phone which has buttons. So it all depends upon the individuals liking and disliking.

Answer 2:- The difficulty in learning a skill depends on the time we contribute to learning it. For instance, learning English is considered tough by most students and job seekers. It requires a lot of practice and interaction with others to excel in English.
