The pie charts illustrate the comparison of expenditure done on five household categories by two nations (the UK and New Zealand) in 1980 and 2008.

It is vivid, and the UK people spent the highest proportion(27%) of their money on leisure in 1980. Followed by utility bills with almost similar expenditure to that made on the former one. While, the spending on leisure raised by 7 percentile in 2008, which remained the maximum. On the other hand, money spent on bills witnessed an almost negligible rise in 2008. In the UK, the least expenditure was made on other households (9% in 1980 and 11% in 2008).

Moving towards the spendings of New Zealand, in 1980, the maximum percentage(29%) of money was spent on food and drink. However, expenditure on utility bills was highest in 2008, which was 31%. The minimum per cent of the money in both years, 1980 and 2008, was spent on other household and it was 9% and 11% respectively.

All in all, spending in all the households almost increased in 2008 in both countries, except, the money spent on comforts.
