You Have Been Invited to Attend an Interview

You have been invited to attend an interview for a place studying a course in a college. Unfortunately, because of a previous appointment, you cannot come at the time they wish.

Write a letter to the admissions tutor and explain your position. Apologise and offer to come on another day or later the same day. Ask also how long the interview will be and whether there will be any tests during it.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am much obliged that you invited me for an interview to keep my place reserved in a language course in your college; but, I am apologizing for my inability to reach a fixed schedule for the above-mentioned interview.

Let me inform you that I have completed my graduation with honours in English. After coming off flying colours, I thought to enrol myself in Post Graduation to opt for Linguistic in order to secure a job in the government sector.

Would you be kind enough to allow me to appear for an interview on any alternative day or the same day after midday at any time? Would I venture to appear online? Attending an online interview is ideal for me as I would be away from the place due to urgency at home. Would you mind supplying the required information about the duration of the interview? What’s more, would there be a subjective or objective exam? I need the above-mentioned information.

I hope you will accede to my request and give me an opportunity to appearing in an interview.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours Faithfully,
