You Live with A Roommate at University but You Have Trouble Studying Because of A Problem Related to Your Roommate

You live with a roommate at university but you have trouble studying because of a problem related to your roommate. Write a letter to an administrator at your university and include:

  • Who you are?
  • The problem.
  • What do you suggest they do?

Good day, Mrs ABC,

My name is ………………………., a student of Project management at the University of Cambridge. I got enrolled on the department as a master’s student.

I live in the student hostel, room 187 precisely. At the commencement of the first semester, I lived alone as I was yet to be paired with another roommate.

During the mid-semester, I received notification from the accommodation unit about the addition of a new roommate to our room. Her name is ……………………………, an undergraduate student of Theater Arts.

I noticed sometime after her admission, (Roommate Name)  started taking hard drugs; at first, she did this outside of our room before entering and covered up with Cologne, so you hardly suspect. But more recently, she has brought the action right into the room, causing harm to the room atmosphere. This has affected my study greatly, as I find it difficult to study by indirectly inhaling the substances. According to research, this can cause damage to the brain and a decline in brain activities/memory retention.

She has been adamant about my advice lately. I would appreciate it if you use your good offices to look into this issue. Thank you for the time and consideration, as I look forward to the necessary actions taken by the school.

Sincerely,
