You Saw an Advertisement for A Tennis Course in England: GT Writing Task 1

You saw an advertisement for a tennis course in England, but you have some problems and can’t stay for the whole course. Write a letter to the course director. In your letter,

  • explain your interest in the course
  • describe your problems
  • find out whether a refund is possible if you leave early

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing this letter to express my interest in the tennis course conducted by your institution and would like to enquire some more details about it. Recently, I came across your advertisement on billboards, and I could not resist contacting you. Since I was always passionate about learning tennis, I would like to enrol in this Six-month-long program. This course is intended for intermediate tennis players so it would be a good fit for me.

However, there are some issues that I would like to let you know about before enrolling in this course. First and foremost, I would like to highlight the timing of the system is not suitable for me as I have my work commitment around that time. Lastly, I will probably be travelling to Australia during my course on a client site from work for tentative 2-3 months.

I would like to know if any alternative times are suitable for the full-time job employees. I assume more people like me have full-time jobs and considerate timings? Also, if my visa gets approved and I need to fly down to Australia, can I get a partial refund if I do not complete the course? What are the refund policy and terms & conditions applied? Finally, I request you email the document checklists to join the course.

Thank you so much for your attention and participation. A prompt response would be highly appreciated.

Yours faithfully,
