Your Landlord Wants to Increase Your House Rent.

Your landlord wants to increase your house rent. Write a letter to him to explain your situation. In your letter, you should tell:-

  • why do you think the rent shouldn’t be increased?
  • what you will do if it is increased?

Dear Sir,

I hope this letter finds you in radiant health and the best of spirits. I am Amit Dhupar, staying on rent in your flat B-401, Mangla greens apartment, Vadodara. I am writing this letter to make my point of view on annual rent increment.

As you are aware of the current property market trend, which is going downwards due to lack of demand, annual increment at this stage is contradictory. Even some of the flats in our building are available to move in at rent lower than what I am paying you now. None of the flat owners has increased their rent in line with market sentiments.

Further to add above, I am also paying club charges of society, which is additional to my rent. However, these charges are not being paid by other tenants of our society. This amount shall be utilized by society to enhance clubhouse facilities in future. These charges shall be borne by landlords as these future facilities may not be utilized by me.

Citing the above consideration, I request you to revert the increment in annual rent applied by you for the current calendar year. Otherwise, I have to search for other flats, which are readily available in our society at cheaper than my current rent.

Expecting a positive response from your side.

Yours sincerely
