A Library IELTS speaking part 2 cue card topic with sample answer

Sample 1:

Today, I’d like to talk about the library I used to go to when I was in college several years ago 📚. Since it was a private school, the library was quite small, but I think it had all you needed to have a successful life as a student. The facilities included a computer lab 💻, a writing lab ✍️, a section with cubicles for self-study 📖, and an area with large tables for group discussions 💬.

And if you needed more privacy, they even had small rooms where students could get absolute silence 🤫. There were several reasons why I would go to that library. First, it was right next to my dormitory building, so it only took me a few seconds to get there 👣. Second, before a test, I would go to my favorite spot in the library to study.

That spot was in a corner of the third floor and next to a large window where I had a bird’s-eye view of the school campus 🌳. And third, I would go to the library to do research and find sources of information for my research papers 🔍.

Although relatively small, I think this library was quite useful for me because I could find all the necessary materials I needed throughout my school years. I also made use of its writing lab very often because they had people who could take a look at my work and give me feedback.

That was particularly helpful since English was still a language I wasn’t very familiar with. All in all, this library played an important part in my life as a college student, and I wish I can visit it again sometime in the future!

Sample 2:

I visited a library recently after coming to London 🇬🇧. It’s located in Eastham. It looked small from the outside, but to my surprise, it was very huge when I got in 🏢. There were 2 levels in it. The ground floor itself was big.

On one side, there were books based on stories with facts and fictions 📚. The other side had books related to business, sports, encyclopedias, and many more 📈.

There was also a small seating arrangement made in the entrance of the library, with a number of different daily newspapers and magazines for people to read 🗞️.

The 2nd floor was very interesting because that had stuff which I was looking for. I basically went for checking if there were any medical books which would be helpful for my career 🩺.

I had made a list of books with the authors’ names so it could be easy for me to look for them. I was very glad when I went to the 2nd floor of the library where I found a number of medical books and a few books which I had on my search list as well.

It was very easy for me to locate the books as there was a computer which accurately made me find the location of the book inside the library when I typed the book with the authors’ name. It was indeed useful for me as the library was located close to where I was living and there were a few books I needed as well.

Sample 3:

Well, mem/sir, a library is an accumulation of books and different sources of information 📚💿. Earlier, libraries only housed books and magazines, but today’s libraries have a wide range of modern sources of information like CDs, DVDs, and the internet apart from books 🌐.

Here I am going to talk about my school library. It is a big library and has around 5000 books 🏫. Our school principal was very particular that all students go at least once to the library.

Thus, we had a library period once a week 📅. We could also get books issued once a week and return them after a week. There were magazines and all sorts of storybooks, novels, and academic books 📖.

It was a very nice experience to be there amidst all sorts of books. This also encouraged our overall reading habit 📚. This library was very useful especially when we needed to make projects for our arts and science fairs 🎨🔬.

I remember, once I had to prepare a project on global warming 🌍. I got all the material from the library. The library also had two computers with internet connection 💻🌐, enhancing our research capabilities.
