Sample 1: Around the World, People Are Now Living Longer than Ever in The Past

Aging is a part of life. People are getting more exposed to living a better lifestyle, which is making them live longer than in the past. This has created a debate amongst people, as many argue that retired groups are creating more tension for the government. In contrast, others say that older generations bring positivity and numerous benefits to the world. The following essay takes a look at both sides of the argument before reaching a concrete conclusion.

It is worth considering that older people are the mentors of the younger generation. They will get numerous life lessons from long-lived people as they have more experience in life and career. Also, research has found that grandparents play a vital role in the upbringing of their grandchildren, which further helps their parents focus more on their work. However, on the other hand, more ancient people made the retirement stage late. As it not only limits the opportunities for the youth but also makes it hard for them to fulfill the roles as they might require more experience. Moreover, it adds dependency issues for adults.

Another factor is that the government has to focus more on medical facilities as older adults would require them due to their aging effects, which would become expenses for the authorities. If the death rate is low, the effect will be on the overall growth of the economy. Furthermore, older ones are not eager to learn at a faster pace due to their reduced capabilities day by day.   To illustrate, a country with a low death rate would be lagging in all aspects of development. These include economic, GDP growth, fewer advancements, and many more. All this would adversely affect the total economic output.

To elucidate, the disadvantages outweigh the advantages besides the various favoured key points. To put it simply, maturing deteriorates health, which further has side effects on the overall increment of the country and brings errands for the government that need to be taken care of. An increasing number of mature leads to workers seeking employment.

Sample 2: Around the World, People Are Now Living Longer than Ever in The Past

Ever since the beginning of the 21st century, there has been immense change in the field of pharmaceuticals, where doctors have researched new medicines to improve human health and live longer. In this essay, I will explain that, compared to the past, people live longer and have a problem with the government, while others believe that older people are more beneficial to society. Before concluding, both views will describe how the advantages of possessing an ageing population outweigh the disadvantages.

Why do millions of people think that ageing people are a problem for the government because of government pension schemes? It is medically proven that after a certain age, the human body no longer works efficiently. Older adults need more care, so governments have to open old-age houses and provide special facilities. Higher authorities have to spend a lot of money to construct and maintain nursing homes. On top of that, many old-age pension schemes are run by the government, where a large slice of the government’s budget is spent on taking care of old-age people. For example, every year, the Indian government pays 20% of its budget to old age people.

On the contrary, what we need to develop a nation is experienced people and older adults are always more practical than youngsters; it is believed that experience is always greater than education/knowledge. Moreover, it is true that with age, the human body is less active and more prone to fatigue, but it is also true that with age, the human mind is more active and preciously works. For example, in any country’s army, people of higher rank are older than soldiers of lower rank because older people are good at decision-making.

In conclusion, old people create more problems for the government. But we have a solution, too. The government can provide them with part-time jobs rather than 8 hours of work; they can work only 4 hours a day. Or they can use their experience rather than physical activities work.
