Computer: IELTS Speaking Introduction Questions With Answers

Question 1: Do you use a computer in your daily work?

Family and friends nicknamed me the screen guy since I was a teenager, because of the huge amount of time I spent on the computer. Nowadays, I often use a computer due to an eye problem, so my doctor advised me to try to minimise screen time as much as I can. However, I play with a computer in my office all the time because it’s the only thing supporting my work.

Question 2: How did you learn to use a computer?

I remember the first moment I saw a computer was at my father’s office. I went to visit him since I was three months away from going to boarding school, and he taught me some simple techniques for using computers easily. After returning home from boarding school, I was surprised to find an unforgettable desktop computer in my room. It was in December 2004, so I started to recall the techniques my father taught me on my visit to his office.

Question 3: How often do you use the computer outside of work?

Despite the huge amount of time I used to spend on the computer during my teenage years, I am not a screen guy due to the responsibility I have had since I got married. My life has turned to another phase, so I don’t use the computer as much as I did as a teenager.

Question 4: What kind of tasks do you perform on the computer?

I work as a junior doctor, so updating patients’ conditions and lab examinations in the hospital app via computer is one of my duties. I spend almost four hours out of eight on a computer screen in my office documenting patients’ vital notes in the hospital’s official app called Afya Care.

Question 5: What do you mainly use a computer for?

I use a computer mainly during my work hours. As I have said before, I use the computer to upload patients’ vital notes so that other juniors who come after my shift will know what happened in the last 8 hours of my watch. It is essential to make your colleagues aware of that patient’s condition.

Question 6: Do you enjoy playing video games? Why or why not?

Of course, yes, I do enjoy playing video games, especially when I have a rough weekday at work. On weekends, my brother and I play video games, mostly PlayStation, which makes us feel younger and recall our childhood.

Question 7: What activities do you typically do online?

I used to be on the Internet and loved those days in university, but now I don’t spend vast hours online due to various issues like poor network connection, so I stay a little to do some activities such as talking with my overseas friends via Facebook and WhatsApp.
