There are still many villages in India that hold historical and cultural significance. I have lived in the city for 15 years, but I enjoy visiting villages once a year because I love the atmosphere of rural areas. So I recently visited my friend’s house, which is situated near Shamlaji.

I stayed there for a couple of days because I went there during my summer vacation. One early morning, he took me to his farm, which was just 2 km from his house. We spent the whole day there.

First, he taught me some basic things about farming. After that, I also experienced how to dig up the land and plant the seeds. After that, I saw many birds there that I had never seen before. I also saw various types of plants there for the first time. Although the atmosphere was warming, I did not feel any heat due to the shelter of those giant trees.

In the afternoon, we ate a Gujarati meal that his mom had prepared for us when we arrived at the farm. After that, we went to the river just next to the farm. We enjoyed swimming for about 2 to 3 hours. In the evening, we returned to his farm, where he conducted some of his work, and I also assisted him with that work. While we were returning home, I also took some fruit directly from the tree and vegetables from the farm.

It was an amazing experience for me to climb the trees and collect fruits. I felt very exhausted because whatever I did that day was unique for me, and I found it quite tough to do. However, it was a great experience to visit a farm because that day I realised that to produce food, farmers need to put in a lot of hard work for 365 days, and it is because of them that we can get food. So I felt proud of my country for having such hard-working men in India.

Question 1:- Do young people enjoy living in the countryside?

From my perspective, young people do not enjoy living in the countryside because they get only a few amenities there as compared to cities. Young people are the ones who want to keep up with the fast pace of modern technology. So they might feel difficulties in not having proper modern facilities to walk with modern people.

Question 2:- What can be done to improve life in rural areas?

In rural areas, there is a lack of many facilities that can be implemented there, such as good public transportation facilities, health care and education centres and many more. Such a type of facility not only improves villages but also raises the living standards of rural people. Apart from this, water drainage systems should be developed to save them from waterborne diseases during the monsoon.

Question 3:- Does the government pay more attention to rural areas or urban areas?

I think a huge number of the population lives in a city nowadays. Therefore, the major concern for the government is the city rather than the village. The budgets for improving cities may be passed every day in urban areas to modernise the city, but in rural areas, they are passed only once or twice a year.

Question 4:- What are the importance of travelling?

Travelling is also considered a hobby. Every person should have a hobby of travelling because it is an excellent option through which information from around the world can be acquired. If a person travels frequently, they can learn about the cultures and traditions of others. Moreover, it is also beneficial for oneself because it helps to get relaxation and refreshment from work or study.

Question 5:- What places do you want to visit in future?

There are many places still on my bucket list, such as Kedarnath temple, Varanasi, Delhi and many more. I also have an extreme urge to visit places outside the country, such as Bali, Singapore and Thailand.

Question 6:- What type of places do you recommend people to visit on vacation?

If people want to go there with their families on vacation, I prefer them to visit spiritual places in India, such as Amritsar, Badrinath, Tajmahal, etc. If people have to go with their life partners, I advise them to consider destinations such as the Maldives, Goa, Shimla, and Kerala.

Question 7:- Do old people prefer to live in the countryside or in the city?

I think old people feel better by living in the countryside because they get an appropriate atmosphere which is suitable for them. They can meet people of their age. They can also visit nearby places on foot. However, it is not possible in the city because everyone is busy with their jobs, so they may feel bored and alone.

Question 8:- Why do many people move from small towns to big cities?

There are many reasons behind moving from a small town to a big city. Some people move to study or work. At the same time, others move there to get modern facilities. Many people also have a dream of living in big cities when they were children, so this may also be a reason for migration.

Question 9:- What’s the difference between living in the countryside and living in the city?

According to me, there is a huge difference between the lifestyle of people who live in the countryside and those who live in the city. Their clothes and food habits are significantly different from those of people who live in cities. Apart from this, people who live in the city can easily adapt to the fast pace of technology, which may be quite challenging for those in the countryside.

Question 10:- How has life changed in the countryside in your country?

Nowadays, many facilities like shopping centres and hotels are built in the countryside of my hometown. More housing area is also constructed there. Some time ago, it was nothing but an empty remote area, but now it is gradually modernising with time.
