Furniture: IELTS Speaking Introduction Questions With Answers
Question 1: Do you have many pieces of furniture at home? At work?
Ans: Yes, I have a lot of furniture at my home and work to keep my stuff. At home, I have a Bed, a Wardrobe, a dining table, a Study table, and some shelves; at work, I have a work table and a wardrobe. I even have some nice furniture in the kitchen to keep my utensils and to display my crockery. Because furniture makes our home more beautiful rather than an empty place, it helps us keep our stuff in its place, which makes it easier for me to find it later.
Question 2: Do you have any wooden furniture?
Ans: Yes, I do have wooden furniture as well. Even though I like having antique wooden furniture in my home, it gives me a sense of relaxation. To keep my stuff in its place, this furniture really helps.
Question 3: What furniture do you own? Which items do you like?
Ans: I have ample items at my home, including my bed, Dining table, study table, wardrobe, TV panel, and a wooden temple. I like all my furniture because I buy everything with planning. But I really like my study table because I spend most of my time on it, and it’s spacious and comfortable. Even if I study for 5-6 hours continuously, I never feel tired. As it has two drawers on the side, I keep my stationery and valuable items in them as needed.
Question 4: What’s your favourite item of furniture?
Ans: It’s pretty tricky for me to choose one because Anything I buy at home, I plan for a long time. But my study table is one of my favourites because I spend most of my time there. While studying and for my entertainment — like watching movies and series — I always sit there. It is very comfortable for me. It has two side drawers where I keep my usable stuff. And the best part about this table is that my father gifted it to me on my 15th birthday, so I have so many memories with it.
Question 5: Have you ever received furniture as a gift?
Ans: Yes, my father gave me a study table on my 15th birthday, which was one of the best birthday gifts I have ever had. It’s been 10 years now that I’ve been using this table, and it still looks like new. It is made of exclusive wood, which keeps its shine like new. I also take very good care of my table, and it is very spacious and comfortable.
Question 6: Has anyone bought you a piece of furniture?
Ans: Yes, Last year my mother bought me an almirah for my room. As I was running out of space for my clothes, we decided to buy a new almirah, and my mother will pay for it. I was over the moon to hear that, because at the time, I was running out of budget, having to pay my school fees. So we went to IKEA to choose an almirah, and we spent almost 5 hours selecting one that best met my requirements and fit the space in my room. Finally, we bought it, and when I placed it in my room, it really looked good and spacious.
Question 7: Do you often buy furniture? Why? Where?
Ans: Recently, I bought a TV cabinet for my room. I bought a new LED because the older one was not working correctly. Then I bought a new and bigger one. To keep the latest LED, I went to IKEA to look at the options, and after spending 3 hours, I finally bought a Cabinet for my TV. It is made of steel and is grey, which is suitable for my room too. It has two drawers on each side for storing some stuff, and in the middle is a shelf space, which makes it look better.
Question 8: What furniture do you usually buy? What did you last buy?
Ans: It depends on the requirement whenever I buy any furniture. Recently, I purchased an almirah for my room. As I was running out of space to store my clothes, I finally decided to buy a new almirah, and my mother and I went to IKEA to buy one. It took us 5 hours to get a perfect one that met our requirements and fit our room space. When I fixed it in my room, it looked excellent and was worth the price I paid.
Question 9: What kind of furniture would you like to buy?
Ans: It depends on what and why I am buying any furniture. If I have to buy it for outdoor use, I prefer steel or another metal; if it is for indoor use, it depends on the room. Mostly, I like to buy wooden furniture for indoor use.
Question 10: What styles do you prefer: modern or traditional furniture?
Ans: Most of the time, I like to buy modern furniture for indoor use because it saves space and is easy to install. Moreover, it is less expensive than the traditional one. The reason for buying modern furniture is that it gives my home an exquisite look and is spacious as well.
Question 11: Are you planning to buy any furniture this year?
Ans: I always love buying new furniture or home items. But for now, I am not planning to purchase Anything because I recently purchased an almirah for my room, which was really expensive, and I am running out of budget to buy Anything new.
