Sample Answer: In Some Countries, a Few People Earn Extremely High Salaries
In certain countries, it is considered good for a country for some residents to get huge payments, while others disagree and believe the government should monitor the payments in order to limit the amount residents can get. Because some people hold higher education status and experience, which leads them to earn much money, I believe the government would establish an equity salary Policy.
On the one hand, nowadays, people hold many educational qualifications and are more experienced in what they do to make a living. In other words, people tend to value someone based on their academic background and experience, so holding that in a portfolio will escalate the price of their work, and vice versa, is true. A good example is my cousin’s brother, who works for a national bank in my country. He receives an excellent salary because he studied at the best university in South Africa, similar to the fact that he did an internship at a popular bank called Exim Bank. All of this is included in his portfolio, so they valued him much more than his colleagues.
On the other hand, the best way to combat this is for the government to monitor salaries paid to the employees so that everyone can get equitable payments. This would minimise the gap between workers as each of them will earn a wage that is enough for them to make a living, and their salaries are similar to their education status. The real illustration of this in my country is that the government of Tanzania established a scheme for all employees that mentions the lowest and the highest salaries per month a person can get based on education, regardless of experience.
To recapitulate, while some people agree it is good for a country for a few people to earn huge salaries, others believe that the government should monitor salaries so that it can limit the amount they receive. Higher education qualifications and experience resulted in extremely high salaries, but establishing an equity salary policy will control the situation. Despite the full acknowledgement of the benefits of the salary policy initiated by the government, I agree that it is good for some people to earn high salaries.
