In Some Countries, Companies Allow People to Work from Home; in Others, People Are Still Expected to Work in an Office. Discuss Both Views and Give Your Own Opinion.
Sample Answer: In Some Countries, Companies Allow People to Work from Home
Organisations allow staff to work remotely in some regions, whereas in others, employees are required to perform their duties on-site. This essay discusses both schools of thought and presents my own perspective.
There are merits to people working off-site. If workers are allowed to work from home, they will have greater autonomy. In addition, there will be a reduction in stress. For example, a recent study by the Human Resources department of an IT company found that those who perform tasks have greater control over their lives than those who come to the office. In addition, performing job responsibilities from one’s abode reduces the need for office space, thereby cutting operational costs.
On the other hand, going to a workplace has its own benefits. First of all, it facilitates collaboration. Working in the same environment with colleagues fosters team spirit, thereby increasing productivity. For instance, in my department, we have achieved significant and quick results by working together. However, collaborating would not be possible if we were working alone or in different locations. Moreover, there is a good chance of forming new relationships in a workshop through the inevitable daily interactions among participants.
In conclusion, I believe both views have their advantages. Nevertheless, in my opinion, remote work is better. This is because it improves work-life balance and allows time for family and friends.
