Recent debates have focused on whether individuals’ savings for their future are paramount. In my opinion, accumulating funds to be spent in the future is a life necessity.
Firstly, one argument in favour of saving is that it enables an individual to meet life goals. Different people have varied goals in life, such as building a house, buying a dream car or even taking kids to high-class schools and colleges. By setting aside money, a person would be able to meet such targets without much struggle.
Secondly, savings can be used to cover unexpected expenses. Since life is unpredictable, fortunes or misfortunes may arise. Fortunes, for example, profitable business opportunities, may come up unexpectedly. On the other hand, misfortunes, such as sickness or even death, may strike an individual. Having a reserve of funds enables a person to deal with such unforeseen circumstances in the future.
Financial independence is the third advantage of saving money. In most cases, people want to have the liberty and authority to spend money on things they like and live comfortable lives. This can only be achieved by accumulating money for future use.
To sum up, saving is an important life activity since it helps people meet their life goals, cover emergencies, and achieve financial independence. Therefore, individuals should incorporate it into their daily lives.
