Longer life spans and improvements in the health of older people

Longer life spans and improvements in the health of older people suggest that people over the age of sixty-five can continue to live full and active lives.

In what ways can society benefit from the contribution that older people can make?

INTRODUCTION:

The 21st century has witnessed significant breakthroughs in many fields and one among these is the expansion of the average life expectancy. Several innovations in the medical field have made the human race to live life with doubled energy thereby promising them a hurdle free living. Many people believe that to keep the culture as well as tradition intact the old generation has to be preserved.

PARAGRAPH 1:

The older generations are considered as the knowledge hubs as well as the powerhouse of talents as they have been the evidence to visualize the rapid transformations but are quick in acclimatizing. This astonishing nature can be used as an experience to adjust ourselves for the coming years. For example, many years ago there was an outbreak of Spanish flu which led to immense deaths however few did survive and enlightened the nations to be beware of pandemic situations that may reoccur. For the above-mentioned reason, I strongly affirm that grey-haired people are not vulnerable but valuable.

PARAGRAPH 2:

Over the passing years across the countries, we have noticed many arts have vanished and Millenials are least aware of such art forms yet the only source to keep our traditions unblemished is to acquire it from our aged citizens. For instance, calisthenics is people who are well versed with functional training of the body but presently is a lost art. I strongly adhere that to keep ourselves fit we should follow a procedure which already proved to be effective so if our veterans can dispense their skills to us through their exposure to previous skills it would be beneficial for the descendants.

CONCLUSION:

Although a massive change in the environment is gradually reducing the healthy mean age of an individual, nevertheless, the gains are monumental if the functional life is elevated.
