Most major cities around the world continue to grow at a phenomenal rate due to the massive increase in population. This has led to a general decline in the quality of life in city areas as the environment becomes more crowded and polluted. Give some reasons why this growth has occurred and suggest some practical solutions to this problem.
It has been observed that metropolitan areas are being occupied by burgeoning populations globally. This exodus has declined the standard of living as the increasing population makes their cities congested and contaminated. The reasons behind this growth are employment opportunities, modern facilities, and this migration can be halted by turning the remote areas into developed ones.
First off, employment opportunities allure the masses to migrate to urban areas. To elaborate, people do not find good jobs in the backward areas, and it becomes hard for them to earn bread and butter. Therefore, they decide to shift to megalopolis areas, where they can get lucrative offers and wages. For instance, Mumbai, Delhi are the places where multitudes move and work in MNCs and also in other small scale industries and make their livelihood. They do not even imagine such a big amount while working in their hometown. Consequently, this growth makes the metropolitan areas congested, and people find it hard to live in an atmosphere that is full of smog and creates problems for the masses. Many fall victim to cardiovascular diseases, asthma and skin allergy.
On the other hand, reshaping the countryside areas by providing modern facilities can deter this uncontrolled migration to large cities. To exemplify it, when individuals get every facility as they see in big cities, they will tend to move less and try to develop their locality more. Apart from it, establishing industries can provide them jobs, which is the root cause of their relocation. Persons will be happier and content when they are able to meet their basic needs.
To conclude, in consideration of the above analysis it is clear that in order to get fair, attractive wages, other facilities, people move to big cities and make the place polluted. Establishing factories in the rustic areas is one of the solutions to stop this unstopping pollution.
