I belong to holy city Kurukshetra which is known for long historical background and history.  There are lot famous places.

Which is it?

  1. One such place is ‘Brahamrover’ which is Asia’s biggest man-made pond. It is situated in the heart of the city. It is a very big pond and a major crowd-puller.
  2. Numbers of people visit this place everyday not only from Kurukshetra but from different part of India.

What is this famous for?

  1. Basically, it is religious place. It has special significance for Hindus. On the occasion of Solar Eclipse and the fair of ‘Kumbh’ which is held after every 12 years on Brahamrover, lots of people come to take a ‘holy dip’ in Brahamrover. Therefore, it has a high religious importance.
  2. Apart from that, it is also famous for ‘Geeta Jayanti function’ which is held by the youth and cultural department of Haryana Govt. every year. Gita Jayanti is an art and craft fair where different states of India participate and exhibit various cultural and artistic items and objects.
  3. Brahamrover is also a great place to hand out. People of all age groups hang out at Brahamrover especially in the mornings and evenings. Lots of families can be seen coming for small picnics and outings here.

All in all, Brahamsrover is quite a happening place.  The hustle and bustle is a treat to watch.
