Scientific research should be carried out and controlled by governments rather than private companies. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
The research and experiments in the Science domain should be performed and monitored by the government instead of some capitalistic system. I strongly agree with this idea of regulating the scientific procedures and analysis by the authoritative body of the country, and in the following paragraphs, I will state my views to support this argument by citing some examples.
Firstly, the government of any country has always been considered an impersonal body that treats every system or community of the nation in an equal manner. Therefore, it is believed that all organizations whose sole purpose is to serve society should be placed under the supervision of the government. As a scientific investigation, like any experiment done in NASA, is meant to be carried out for the betterment of humankind, it should only be governed by the trusted and impartial organization of the country rather than any profit-making firm that works only for the development of their people and the organization.
In addition to the above argument, these technological experiments involve lots of crucial data which, if not kept privately and securely, could bring dire consequences for the whole nation, as these could be easily manipulated by the people or the firm who work for their benefit. For instance, ISRO, the Indian Space Research Organization, is managed by the Indian government and works in space technology. Till now, it has executed a myriad of successful experiments for the growth and progress of India. If some commercial company had managed it, then it would have been an effortless job for that company to use the data negatively, which could have benefitted them, and India would not have achieved a variety of accomplishments in the space domain.
To conclude this, it seems that scientific researches are fruitful if they are carried out under the supervision of the government rather than some private enterprises as there is a difference of intention between these organizations.
