Some people believe that teaching children at home is best for a child’s development while others think that it is important for children to go to school. Discuss the advantages of both methods and give your own opinion.
People’s opinions differ as to whether school education or home education holds more importance for a student. Personally, I believe that school education is the better option.
Those who consider home education as the better option do so for the following reasons. Firstly, many parents feel scared that their children would catch bad habits if they attend school with other children. This is because it has become quite prevalent among school children to take drugs and use abusive language. Secondly, owing to the growth in population, the strength of students in schools has also increased exponentially. As such, parents feel that they can give much more proper care and attention to the academic needs of their child at home as compared to schools.
However, despite the aforementioned arguments, I support those who consider school education as the more significant of the two reasons. To begin, teachers are professionals who are well-equipped to educate children in the best way possible. However, on the other hand, parents do not possess the necessary skills to bring about equal academic growth in them. Moreover, in the school environment, children get to interact with each other which develops in them the necessary social skills. This is important because skills such as teamwork and discipline ensure a healthy future as an adult.
In conclusion, while there are arguments in favor of home education, I consider school education to be the better option as it is ideal for a child’s academic as well as social growth.
