Speaking Practice Test 8 with Audio Sample: Duration: 11–14 minutes

In the Speaking test, you have a discussion with a certified examiner. It is interactive and as close to a real-life situation as a test can get.

There are three parts to the test and each part fulfils a specific function in terms of interaction pattern, task input and candidate output.

In Part 1, you answer questions about yourself and your family. In Part 2, you speak about a topic. In Part 3, you have a longer discussion on the topic.

Describe a memorable book you have read
You should talk about:
its name and the person/people who wrote it
what it was about/what happened
why you read it
and explain why it was so memorable for you

* How can we encourage young people to read more books?
* Is there a future for books and libraries with the rise in popularity of the internet?
* What kind of skills does a person need to write a book?
* Would you like to write a book? (Why/Why not?)
Topic 2 Information Technology and Computers
* How has the computer affected society in your country?
* Do you think computer skills should be taught in schools? (Why/Why not?)
* How do you think computer technology and IT will develop in the future?
* Could you comment on the idea that the introduction of computers has enormously
increased unemployment?
