The table below gives information about the underground railway systems in six cities. Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information shown below. Make comparisons where relevant.


The chart illustrates the details of the underground railway network in six several cities over the centuries.

Overall, it is immediately apparent from the chart that the highest number of commuters frequently used the railway network in Tokyo, while London has the oldest railway system with the longest route.

To begin with, in 1863, the underground train network opened in London along with a 394 km route, and 775 million travellers utilized this system every year. After 27 years second railway network opened in Paris, which has a 199 km route, and passengers used the train system with shares at 1191 million per year. Moreover, 1927 million people often used the rail network and travelled around 155 km in Tokyo, which was opened in 1927.

Furthermore, another underground railway system was established in 1976 in Washington DC, which offers a 12km distance of the route, and 144 million people consume this network every year. It is interesting to note that, five years later, the new station opened in the city of Kyoto, which has a nominal margin of route accounted by 11 km and 45 million locals preferred the system every year. Meanwhile, the last underground rail system opened in Los Angeles in 2001 with a route of 28 km with 50 million commuters per year.
