The table graph illustrates the number of medals, including gold, silver, and bronze, won by 10 different countries in the London 2012 Olympic Games. Notably, a country’s rank is determined by the number of gold medals it wins.
Overall, we are at the top with a high number of medals, as well as a higher number of bronze and gold medals. Russia has more silver medals than other countries, but it ranks fourth.
At a glance, the US is at the top of the table with a total of 104 medals (it has 46 gold, 29 silver and bronze). The second country in the London Olympics was China, which had 38 gold, 27 silver and 23 bronze medals. Great Britain has a total of 65 medals, and Russia has a total of 82, but Russia is in fourth place as it has fewer gold medals (24) compared to Great Britain (29).
Furthermore, South Korea has won 13 gold medals, along with eight silver and seven bronze medals. While Germany and France had a similar number of gold medals (11), Germany won a total of 44, with more silver and bronze (19 and 14) compared to France, which had 11 silver and 12 bronze, totalling 34 medals.
Similarly, Italy owns eight, and Hungary owns nine, with both countries having equal gold medals (8) but a significant difference in total medals of 11. Australia has a total of 35 medals, which is more than Hungry, Italy, France and South Korea, but it has only seven gold medals, so it was in last place on the table.
