Every day we see news on television that a lot of discoveries and inventions are made by scientists. Various innovative materials have been invented since ancient times, such as electronic bulbs, bicycles and many more. A group of people believe that the internet is a significant invention by humans. I largely agree with the statement and will explain in the following paragraphs.
First of all, I agree that the internet is an important innovation that has made communication easier. In the past, people could not communicate if they did not live together. Therefore, they needed to meet people to talk with them. But nowadays it is possible to communicate with people in spite of the long distance between them. For example, people from India can easily call others even while sitting in a corner of their home. They can also meet them virtually via FaceTime. It is just because of the internet that it was not possible before its existence.
Moreover, with the help of the internet, people can get information from around the world instantly. People can watch a whole incident that happens in the world along with audiovisual content. In ancient times, people had to wait for a day until the newspaper came to their home. However, people do not need to wait to get information at the present time. It becomes straightforward for people to acquire knowledge about the world.
On the other hand, some people suggest that many other creations, such as bulbs, are more important than the internet. They believe that the invention of the bulb led to the discovery of many other electronic appliances. Mobile phones and computers are the byproducts of electricity. Without these electronics, the discovery of the internet would be useless. Apart from this, electronics make human life better than the internet, such as washing machines, an iron and an oven.
In conclusion, from my perspective, the internet is an important factor that makes the communication system smooth. However, it is not negligible that the discovery of it was impossible without electronics.
