1) What is your job?

To be honest, I am currently working as a Technical Assistant at a local IT company called The Creative Minds in Moga. My job mainly involves troubleshooting, software installation, and providing technical support. Although it’s an entry-level role, it gives me hands-on experience in the IT field. As far as I’m concerned, this job is a stepping stone that prepares me for my higher studies in Canada.

2) Where do you work?

I work at The Creative Minds, a small but growing IT company based in Moga. The firm primarily provides digital solutions, including website development, network management, and IT support, to local businesses. Honestly, the company is not very big, but the workplace environment is friendly and professional. Additionally, it’s conveniently located near my home, which is quite beneficial, and it provides me with real-world experience in IT projects.

3) Why did you choose that job?

Actually, I chose this job because I have always had a genuine interest in technology and computers. I wanted to apply my knowledge in a practical way rather than just studying theory. On the one hand, it provides me with the opportunity to enhance my technical skills. On the other hand, it also provides valuable work experience before I move to Canada for further studies. Without a doubt, it’s the right choice for me.

4) Is it a popular job in your country?

Yes, absolutely. IT jobs are highly sought after in India nowadays due to the country’s rapid digitalization. Almost every business requires some form of IT support, making this field an attractive option for young people. To be more specific, roles such as software developer, programmer, and network engineer are in high demand. Although being a Technical Assistant is an entry-level position, it remains in high demand. To the best of my knowledge, IT is considered a promising career path in India.

5) Do you like your job?

Yes, I do. Honestly speaking, I enjoy my job because it aligns with my passion for technology. Every day, I have the opportunity to learn something new, whether resolving system errors or supporting clients. Of course, tasks can sometimes feel repetitive, but overall, I find them satisfying. The best part is that it gives me a solid foundation for my future studies and career in Canada. In short, it is both rewarding and motivating.

6) Do you get on well with your colleagues?

Definitely, yes. As far as I’m concerned, I’m really fortunate to have supportive colleagues. They are cooperative and always willing to guide me whenever I face difficulties. We also share light conversations during tea breaks, which creates a friendly atmosphere. Additionally, teamwork is encouraged, which helps us handle projects more efficiently. Without a doubt, having good colleagues makes the workplace environment more positive and stress-free.

7) What was your first day like?

Well, my first day was actually a mix of nervousness and excitement. At first, I felt overwhelmed because it was my first professional job. However, my supervisor introduced me to the team and explained my responsibilities. Later, I had the opportunity to assist with software installation, which boosted my confidence. To be honest, by the end of the day, I realized that although the job is challenging, it’s also an excellent opportunity to learn and grow.

8) What responsibilities do you have at work?

To be more specific, my responsibilities include troubleshooting, installing software, maintaining systems, and assisting in website projects. Additionally, I provide technical support to clients whenever they encounter IT issues. Another essential task is documentation, which helps us keep track of problems and solutions. On the whole, I would say my role is a balance between learning and responsibility, and it definitely teaches me professionalism and discipline.

9) If you had the chance, would you change your job?

Honestly, yes. If I had a better opportunity that aligned with my career goals, I would definitely consider making a change. Currently, this job serves as a stepping stone in my IT journey, but in the future, I aspire to work in a more advanced role, such as a systems analyst or software engineer. As I plan to move to Canada, I’m open to exploring broader opportunities for career growth.

10) Do you plan to continue with your job in the future?

Well, not really in the long term. To be honest, my main goal is to pursue higher education in Canada. In the short term, I’ll continue working here because it provides me with valuable practical experience. However, after completing my studies abroad, I’d like to move into a more specialized role in IT. As for my career, this job is temporary, but it provides a solid foundation for my future.
