Sample Answer 1: Write a Letter to The Manager of The Lost and Found Department of The Railway Regarding the Luggage You Accidentally Left
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to seek your assistance regarding a piece of luggage that I accidentally left behind on a train yesterday.
I was travelling on the 9:30 a.m. express train from New Delhi to Amritsar on 27th August. My seat number was 14A in Coach B. The train arrived at Amritsar around 2:15 p.m., and in the rush to disembark, I mistakenly forgot to take my bag with me.
The item I left behind is a medium-sized black trolley suitcase with a red tag attached to the handle. It contains some personal belongings, including clothing, a few books, and important travel documents placed in a blue folder. Since the documents are essential for my ongoing work trip, recovering the luggage is extremely important for me.
I kindly request you to check if the suitcase has been deposited at the Lost and Found department. If located, I would greatly appreciate it if you could either hold it securely until I collect it in person or advise me of the necessary steps to have it delivered to my current address.
Thank you very much for your support and prompt attention. I look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience.
Yours faithfully,

Sample Answer 2: Write a Letter to The Manager of The Lost and Found Department of The Railway Regarding the Luggage You Accidentally Left
Dear Sir,
I am writing to complain about the missing luggage on W 272 VR, which I boarded with your company. I hope this letter finds you in good health and in the best of spirits.
As you are aware, yesterday’s holiday trip was organised by a travel and tour agency to visit some of the tourist sites in the Volta Region of Ghana. It is a day trip that involves visiting the Volta River, Tafi Monkey Sanctuary, Likpe Ancient Caves, and the Wli Waterfalls. Free meals and drinks are all inclusive in the package.
On our return, I got home at 7:00 pm only to realise I forgot my brown leather travelling bag on train W 272 VR. It has a plastic handle, two wheels beneath and only a zip on one side. It is also about 2 feet in height when placed on the floor.
As the manager of the lost and found department, I kindly request that your office contact the driver of the train in question as soon as possible.
I would be very grateful if this matter could be treated with urgency, as I have lost my travel passport in the missing bag and will be leaving for Canada in three days.
In any case, please contact me at +9876543210 for further assistance.
Yours faithfully
