You Have Seen an Advertisement for Weekend Work in A Hotel in The Town

You have seen an advertisement for weekend work in a hotel in the town where you are staying. You have worked in a hotel before and think that the job would be suitable for you. Now you want to apply for the job. Write a letter to the hotel manager expressing your interest. In your letter,

Dear Sir,

My name is Khushbu Mehta, and I have worked for a small finance company for two years; I have a master’s in Accounting & Finance course. After the Covid pandemic hit, there has been some cut down in the salary compensation structure as well as we have been asked to work fewer hours or take unpaid vacations. At worst, some employees have been put on furlough until conditions improve.

Recently, I got to know from the advertisement that your hotel has a job opening for the Cashier position on the weekends. Previously, I worked in a hotel as a cashier while I was completing my master’s. However, I had to resign as I was in my final post-graduation year. To my knowledge, I understand that there has been some shortage in the staff, which has also made the cashier take on some additional responsibilities. I already know to operate the cash handling system well, and with my experience, it will make the work easier and quicker considering the weekend inflows of the customers.

However, please elaborate on the additional roles and responsibilities expected so that I am clear and focused on multitasking. I am willing to attend training if required. I do hope you take an interest in my application. Please, if you need further information in regard to my job experience and Education. I will be able to provide references for my experience.

Looking forward to a suitable response from you.

Yours Faithfully,
