Sample Answer: You Missed Your Friend’s Engagement Party Due to An Emergency
Dear Rahul,
I am writing this with a very heavy heart to sincerely apologize for missing your engagement function last Sunday. First and foremost, please accept my heartiest congratulations to you and Priya! I am so happy for you both.
I was completely ready and about to leave my house when my mother suddenly complained of severe chest pain. I panicked and had to rush her to the hospital immediately. Thankfully, after running a few tests, the doctor confirmed it was a severe gastric issue and nothing serious, but they kept her under observation for the entire night.
I cannot even begin to tell you how terrible I felt about missing such a massive milestone in your life. I had been eagerly looking forward to this day for months. Seeing all the beautiful photos and videos on our WhatsApp group made me so glad to see you both looking so wonderful, but it also broke my heart that I wasn’t there to dance and celebrate with everyone.
Please let me make it up to you both. Once you are free from all the post-engagement family visits, let’s go out for dinner at your favourite restaurant in town. The treat is entirely on me, and I cannot wait to hear all the behind-the-scenes details of the ceremony.
Give my warm regards to uncle and aunty.
Yours affectionately,
Vikram
