You Recently Bought a Piece of Equipment for Your Kitchen: GT Writing

You recently bought a piece of equipment for your kitchen, but it did not work. You phoned the shop, but no action was taken. Write a letter to the shop manager. In your letter:-

  • Describe the problem with the equipment.
  • Explain what happened when you phoned the shop.
  • Say what you would like the manager to do.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to you to complain about a food processor I bought from your company. Despite making numerous complaints about it, nothing has been done, and I am dissatisfied with your service.

Please be informed that the food processor works well in making liquid refreshments; however, it does not operate smoothly when chopping vegetables, as the blades are blunt. There is no consistency in cutting vegetables or onions. I purchased it to save time, but it has increased my burden since it takes considerable time to operate.

It is worth mentioning that your customer service is not up to par. Initially, they put me off by saying that they would replace it within two days. After waiting for another two days, they stopped taking my calls. Eventually, I visited in person and asked them about it. I was disappointed with the lack of attention and left the place with a heavy heart.

Would you be kind enough to help me resolve this problem? I paid 5000 in advance, and your policy also entitles me to make a claim against it. I expect strict action to be taken against your staff who are unable to fix the problem and deal poorly with their customers. Otherwise, it will tarnish the reputation of your company.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Kind regards,
