Well, it is considered that poetry is the best word in the best order. People like to read or write poems to relax and by all means for entertainment purposes. It is a way to express emotions. Here I would like to speak about the beautiful lines written by Robert Browning in his poem The Last ride together. It was actually a dramatic monologue and Robert Browning is famous for writing dramatic monologues. I would like to speak about the lines which really made me feel happy.

I read this poem when I was doing graduation and the poem was narrated in a beautiful way by one of my favorite teachers Mrs. Neha. It had been narrated in such a dramatic way that compelled us to read this poem again and again and the beautiful lines are Shall we together breathe and ride. So one day more am I defied.

It was actually a story of a lover who had been rejected so many times by his mistress. He had a longing to go for a long ride with his mistress. His mistress was getting married to another man so before his marriage, he wanted to take her for a ride. Even though he failed to persuade his mistress to go for a ride; however, he did not lose his heart.

Eventually, he was rewarded and his mistress agreed to go on a journey. So this poem shows a note of optimism that if a person gets failure then instead of repenting, a person should not stop himself to make an effort. One must always be hopeful and as is ever said that hope sustains life. Thus these lines really inspired me to be optimistic.
