Hometown IELTS Speaking Part 1 Questions With Answer

Question 1. Can you tell me about your hometown?

Answer – My hometown is one of the holiest places in India. It’s considered to be one of the best places to experience a sacred and spiritual environment. If anyone is planning to visit India and is fond of temples and saints, then I would definitely recommend my hometown, which is Varanasi, to visit at least once in your India visit.

Question 2. How has your hometown changed over the years?

Answer – Yes, definitely it has been transformed over the years like the Varanasi, which almost 10 to 15 years back was a town now it has become a sprawling city. People across the world are visiting for being the religious place and making it more renowned. Also, Over the years, there have been many developments done for the betterment of the city.

Question 3. Is there any way your hometown could be made better?

Answer – Yes, I think there are many areas which are still underdeveloped like poor maintenance of roads, lack of proper infrastructure and job scarcity mostly in IT sectors. Government authorities should look into these issues and work accordingly.

Question 4. Are there good transportation links to your hometown?

Answer – It depends on which mode people prefer that is It’s good in terms of road and railway modes, but it’s not as effective if you want to opt for flight.

Question 5. What kind of jobs do the people in your hometown do?

Answer – In Varanasi, most of the people have their own shops, kind of like small businesses they have opened and apart from that there are few Industries mostly manufacturing industries which have employed most of the people, and the remaining part of the society is engaged in farming and agriculture.

Question 6. Do you have a lot of friends?

Answer – I would say no, not a lot of friends, as I am not into socializing much. But yes, I do have a few friends, and they are actually those friends who always stand beside me in any kind of situation, so we have maintained that relationship with each other. These friends are basically from all eras of my life, like school time, college life, and now from a working environment.

Question 7. Who is your best friend and why?

Answer – As I already mentioned that I have very few friends, and I can say very firmly that all those friends are my best friends because they have always been there with me whenever I encounter any kind of adverse situation or any other unfortunate situation. So, all my friends have been with me throughout my life and supported me in all situations, whether it was happy or sad moments, so I would say all of my friends are my best friends.

Question 8. Who would you most like to be friends with and why?

Answer – When anyone looks for a person to be his or her friend, there must be some kind of similarity among them. In this same way, I also believe in doing friendship with like-minded people who have a somewhat similar nature when it comes to choosing the same option rather it be of playing any game or watching a movie. In short, subtle differences are acceptable, but most of the time, friends should be on the same page.

Question 9. What kind of person can you make friends with easily?

Answer – As I already mentioned that I believe in doing friendship with like-minded people, but for me, the most important things are how his or her nature is and apart from this, in terms of money how that person deals. So, based on these two aspects, I basically judge the person and think of going ahead with that person as my friend or not.

Question 10. Which is more important to you, friends or family?

Answer – Obviously, I don’t think so anyone would keep friends ahead of their family because family is the first and the foremost thing which you get by default in your life and friends are someone with whom you do your friendship when you get to know them and that too because of your family only. So, in the same way for me also my family is the utmost priority for me and then my friends.
