Question 1:- Is it important for you to celebrate your birthday?

Answer 1:- Well, just as birthdays are relevant for most people, the same applies to me. It is an important event for me because it doesn’t come often, but rather once a year; therefore, I treat it as a particular day, unlike the rest of the days. I do a lot of activities that I usually do not do on an average day. For instance, having fun on the beach and spending time in a restaurant.

Answer 2:- Yes, I have been celebrating my birthday since childhood, making it a very special day. I have not skipped any celebratory moment of my birthday to date.

Question 2:- How do children celebrate birthdays in your country?

Answer 1:- That’s an interesting question, but I would say that my region’s celebration of children’s birthdays mostly depends on the background the child comes from. In other words, wealthy families celebrate their child’s special day on a high note, giving him/her a fantastic moment. However, children from underprivileged backgrounds may be neglected due to a lack of money, or parents may see no reason to make that day memorable for their kids.

Answer 2:- Usually, in India, friends are called at home, and they have a small cake-cutting celebration with indoor games like passing the parcel, Chinese whisper, etc., and snacks like samosa, cake, and wafers. The children do get a return gift from the birthday kid before going home.

Question 3:- How did you celebrate your last birthday?

Answer 1:- I would kick off by saying that, before my birthday last year, I made an arrangement with my childhood friend, an event planner, about my birthday because I wanted to make it massive. After discussing with him, we booked a top-rated hotel nearby, ordered some food from a well-known restaurant in advance and hired sound systems to entertain the people. After that, I began sending invitations to my family and friends to come over in the next 28 hours. During the event, we danced, ate and drank. It is a day I will never forget because it was wonderful.

Answer 2:- I celebrated my birthday last year in a very different way. I went to Amritsar and spent my entire day in the golden temple, and I also helped in the service of langar during lunch. Then I visited Gobindgarh fort to learn more about the Punjab culture and had Punjabi delicacies makai di roti and sarso da sag. The dancers also performed folk dance bhangra, and I danced my heart out to the tunes of Punjabi songs. Indeed, one of the best birthdays outside my hometown Mumbai.

Question 4:- Is there a difference between the way you celebrated your birthday in the past and in the present?

Answer 1:- Yes, there is a slight difference between how I used to celebrate my birthday and now. In the last, I used to depend on my parents whenever it was my birthday because I neither knew anything about birthday celebrations nor had money to celebrate. At times they tend to ignore they see it as unnecessary. Now I take care of myself and treat my birthday as significant as anything. I hardly forget to celebrate it even though my past could have impacted me, but I always remember the time comes, thanks to the alarm in my smartphone calendar.

Answer 2:- Yes, there is a huge difference; I used to celebrate my birthday with the whole family in the afternoon, and evening used to go out with my friends for dinner and parties. However, most of my friends have left the country and settled abroad. So, I do not have my close friends to join me for the celebration. Hence, I have started travelling during my birthday week, exploring the places and culture and uniquely spending the birthday.

Question 5:- What kinds of birthday gifts do you like to receive?

Answer 1:- The type of birthday gift I like to get is a birthday cake. I admire cakes because it’s sweet. On my 25th birthday, my sisters collaborated to buy me a huge one, and they did it on my blank side. So it raised my level of felicity because it was a big surprise. I never expected that. I enjoyed it and kept the remaining portion in my refrigerator.

Answer 2:- I used to love getting dresses and perfumes on my birthday. I once remember my whole college group gifting me 21 birthday gifts in a box for my 21st birthday, and they included all the useful things, so I loved the surprise and would never forget that birthday. For the past few years, I would like to get presents in the form of cash so I can decide on buying my choice of things.

Question 6:- Can you remember a birthday that you enjoyed as a child?

Answer 1:- Well, let me guess, okay, I would like to say that, on my seventh birthday, there was a positive coincidence in my house. It happened on the day that my father had been paid at work. So on his way home from work, he bought fried chicken and some drinks for me. When he came, he told me I should consume all if only I could, and when I finished, he would like to take me out for a minor party. However, surprisingly it bucketed down that evening, so we had no option but to call off the outing.

Answer 2:- I remember my 5th birthday very distinctively as I celebrated the birthday in the school by distributing chocolates and a compass box filled with pencils, scented erasers, and sharpeners to my classmates. After returning from school, my mum decorated our building terrace with balloons and festoons, and the caterers arrived for the food. It was a grand celebration, and even my relatives were called, along with our friends. I also remember having a birthday cake with a train theme.

Question 7:- Do most people celebrate their birthdays with a party in your country?

Answer 1:- Absolutely yes, many people in my country like to enjoy their birthday with a party, in fact for most people a mega party indeed. Many can go as far as requesting a loan from peers, banks or even from a family member just to make their birthday a top-notch. There has been intense competition concerning how people celebrate birthdays in my country. As a result, some people run into debt because they sometimes borrow money to enjoy themselves.

Answer 2:- Yes, nowadays people party for various occasions including birthdays, and small celebrations like promotions also calls for parties. Normally these parties are enjoyed with a small group of close ones, and there are food and drinks arranged by the banquet where the parties are thrown.
