Question 1:- Can you describe your job to me?
Answer 1:-I’m a dentist by profession. I diagnose diseases related to the oral cavity and treat patients.
Answer 2:- Well, I have been working in a college as a professor of English and psychology for two years. My job is not around the clock. It starts at 9:00 in the morning and till 3 in the noon.
Question 2:- What do you do for a living?
Answer 1:- I work as an Associate dentist at dr boghani’s dental clinic. I try to alleviate the suffering of my patients.
Question 3:- How long have you been doing it?
Answer 1:- I have been working as a dentist for the last five years, and I must say that I enjoy treating patients.
Question 4:- Can you describe one of your typical working days?
Answer 1:- On a regular day, I reach the clinic at 9:30. I check my appointments and then make arrangements for them. I start checking new patients at 10. Until 11:30, I check new patients and then from 11:30 to 2, and I do procedures on old appointed patients. After that, I take my lunch and rest for some time, and then again, I start treating patients till 6 in the evening.
Answer 2:- Yes, Monday is typical for me as it’s the start of the week. Hence, it’s a tough day as I have plenty of work to do on this day, like checking the assignments as well as taking tutorial sessions which only took place on Monday and Friday Moreover, organizing cultural activities for the students.
Question 5:- What’s your daily routine on a working day?
Answer 1:- On a typical working day, I reach my clinic at 9:30, start working on patients at ten and do it till 2 in the afternoon. After that, I finish my lunch and take a break for an hour. At 4, I again start treating people with dental issues.
Question 6:- Why did you choose to do that job?
Answer 1:- Since childhood, I have had a keen interest in Biology. I love to treat patients and mitigate their pain. I feel satisfied when I am able to help someone in pain.
Answer 2:- Well, it has been my passion to become a lecturer in a college. Moreover, It helps me to know more about human psychology as well as it’s a great way to enhance my knowledge as teaching-learning is a long process.
Question 7:- What things do you enjoy about your work? Why?
Answer 1:- I mainly love the feeling when my patients thank me after treating them. This is one thing that keeps me going every day.
Answer 2:- I enjoy more tutorial sessions because students come to me with many personal and academic problems, and I feel happy to help them out. Moreover, I often learn about their hidden talent, so I help them by providing them with a platform where they can exhibit their talent.
Question 8:- What do you think is the attraction of your work?
Answer 1:- The main attraction of dentistry is that I get a chance to treat patients, and yet I don’t have to be ready for emergencies. That means I can work and maintain my family life as a doctor, unlike surgeons who have emergencies and no fixed schedules.
Answer 2:- Well-flexible hours, hospitable ambience and promotional prospects are a few factors which attract people to adopt this profession.
Question 9:- What is your ideal job?
Answer 1:- My ideal work would be when I can fix every issue of the patient and relieve their pain immediately. However, it is not plausible as we are humans and not machines, and our body takes time to heal, which no doctor can speed up.
Answer 2:- As I mentioned above, teaching is ideal for me. I am satisfied with this job, and I get plenty of opportunities to explore my knowledge by participating in seminars and conferences.
Question 10:- Do you want to change your current job? Why or why not?
Answer 1:- I would like to change it after a few years because I don’t want to be stuck, and opportunities I have limited opportunities for progress at my current workplace.
Answer 2:- I would not like to change my current job as it’s my niche. I think satisfaction is more important than having higher wages and a lot of other perks. So I am satisfied with this job.
Question 11:- Are you willing to keep your job permanently?
Answer 1:- Not really; as I already said, I want to progress in my field and can do it when I leave this job and open my own clinic.
Answer 2:- To date, I prefer my current job, but if circumstances arise and I need to change my job, then I would think about it; otherwise, I would love to be in my current position.
Question 12:- What are your plans for the future?
Answer 1:- I haven’t decided on everything ideally, but I have a tentative plan according to which I would like to move to Canada and explore something new career-wise, which I haven’t tried yet and figure out what best works for me.
Answer 2:- Well, I don’t believe in making plans in advance, especially long-term plans, as I have experience seeing them flop, so I make plans for a short period, and I think it is straightforward to change them if these are not achievable.
