Sample Answer: Some Companies Have a Policy of Employing People from Different Age Groups
Some companies have a policy of recruiting workers of various age groups. While this provides equal opportunity of landing a job for every citizen, it also has problematic consequences, such as some vacancies requiring experience, which is rare to find in younger people.
On one hand, employing people of different ages plays an important role in giving everyone a chance to secure a dream job regardless of their age. Because it has been unfair to other residents who were excluded from the job offers due to the age factor, as they may be young or older, this will ensure that every person gets a window to participate in the job market. For example, my uncle, who is 60 years old, retired from the government sector as a business teacher, even though he got an opportunity to apply for a job in a popular trade organization in my country and was recruited as a sales manager.
However, taking in people of various age groups has a negative impact on other companies’ goals, as a certain number of employees have inadequate experience for the job. Most companies have their own goals to achieve, so in order to reach the designated level, it demands a huge amount of experience from recruiters, so by employing younger generation which 90 percent of them don’t owned such high quality experience, as they need much time to get hand to hand experience in order to work relatively the same speed as those experienced co-workers. This may increase the risk of not attending the promised level. A good illustration of this is my Ordinary secondary school, which employed teachers of different ages, and yet it doesn’t provide satisfactory results in national exams. After a long time of self-evaluation, they found out the reason behind this is that the youngest lecturers lack proper strategies to aid students to get higher grades.
To recapitulate, the tendency of having a policy of employing people of different age groups by some companies provides an opportunity for every resident to apply for a job, whilst it pulls back some companies’ achievement journey through inexperienced employees. Despite the full acknowledgement of the benefits of companies in recruiting citizens of various ages, I believe the disadvantages outweigh the advantages.
