Some people believe the aim of university education is to help graduates get better jobs. Others believe there are much wider benefits of university education for both individuals and society. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Academic institutions are always renowned for offering the best education to their pupils, which probably helps them acquire jobs. Nevertheless, there is another essential role which these universities play by bestowing the graduates with a knowledge of practical social life. This essay will argue on both the views and conclude with the opinion.

Universities across the world work for a somewhat similar goal: to prepare their students for most of the aspects of life once they are graduated, and securing a job is one of the most prominent prospects out of many. To achieve this, these high-level educational institutions equip their students with the majority of the state-of-the-art tools and technologies, undoubtedly giving them an impetus to their learnings and making them a tough competitor for other job-seekers. For instance, if a graduate has well-informed knowledge of most of the latest softwares consumed by different companies worldwide, there would hardly be any obstruction to getting a well-paid job.

However, in colleges, students acquire an understanding of social etiquettes and manners, along with studying academic curriculum, which is the bedrock of living successfully in any society. This experience, they get it by indulging themselves in different team activities. For example, universities often organize several cultural programmes where students usually partake in groups and learn to work in a team and understand their behaviour. In addition, these undergraduates also learn to manage difficult situations on their own while staying in the college premises and without much parental support, which is again quite significant for an individual to lead a prosperous life.

In conclusion, it seems like the goal of university education is to provide their learners with the best of everything, that is, assisting students to procure high-paid professions and enriching themselves with other forms of knowledge like comprehending social behaviour.
