Some People Think that History Can Tell Us Little: Writing Task 2

Some people think that history can tell us little, but others believe that studying the past can help us better understand the present. Discuss both points of view and give your opinion by giving examples from your own experience.

It is an irrefutable fact that history plays a crucial role in the lives of people, as they can learn more about their past lives. It is believed by numerous individuals that history gives us only a limited amount of knowledge. Others reject this notion, arguing that by learning more about history, they can better understand its value, even in the present. However, in my opinion, I agree with the latter view. Such as getting to know more about the roots and learning more from their mistakes. This essay will analyze both views by taking instances to demonstrate points and proof arguments in the impending paragraph.

To begin with, there are a plethora of reasons why some masses believe that history provides less knowledge. But the most predominant one is the unfactual information that is given to the public. To elucidate further, even though the older generation believes in the history of superstitions. In some history, wars or destruction reasons of particular areas are not proven by any scientific evidence. So that’s why individuals just guess the things in their brains about the incident. For instance, Bhangarh Fort, which is situated in Rajasthan, India, is also known as the Ghost Fort, as the inhabitants did not know the exact reason. Therefore, sometimes wrong information is provided to the folks, and this is spread to more pupils.

On the other hand, I would like to take the side of those who assert that history is imperative even in this present era. First of all, by learning history, people not only know more about their ancestors’ lives. Such as where they lived, and many more. But they can also learn from their mistakes so that they do not repeat them again and again. Besides this, local residents of that particular country know more about their lives. Such as how they live, which transport they use, and many more, but they can also learn from their mistakes.

So that they do not repeat them again and again. Besides this, residents of that particular country know how they got freedom from other countries. And how their city started to build new infrastructure after partitions. Bhagat Singh, for example, was a great freedom fighter in India, had the government not added information about him to the syllabus of the schools. The whole nation would not know about his sacrifices.

In conclusion, even though some information is not accurate and some archaeologists receive no proof related to this, history provides ample amounts of accurate information, and people know more about their ancestors. However, I agree with the people who think that history is crucial; consequently, we should preserve historical museums and books.
