Sample Answer: Talk About an Important Home Appliance that Your Family Uses Daily
In my home country, we don’t have four seasons of the year as those other countries do possess. Fortunately, we do have only two seasons, summer and autumn, but the longest one is summer, almost three-quarters per year.
Due to the long hot season, my daddy and mom decided to purchase an air conditioning machine in the late autumn of 2010 to regulate the hot temperature to a standard one so that AC is on duty for nearly 12 hours daily.
Mostly, I consume it more frequently than other members of my family because I can’t tolerate high-temperature environments. If I am not mistaken, once it reached 42 degrees Celsius, I felt like I was inside the cattle and being heated, so after the presence of the AC machine, our life inside the building went smoothly.
All in all, I can say it is very important to have this kind of appliance in our home, especially in hot–condition areas like nations below the Sahara desert, such as Sudan and Tanzania, so it is crucial for human life over there.
Part 3 Questions: Talk About an Important Home Appliance that Your Family Uses Daily
Question 1: Can you name another home appliance people commonly use daily?
Rice cookers are the second most popular home appliance most people in my area use. Rice is our favourite type of food, and people eat it every day, so using a rice cooker is an easy and fast process of preparing food. Some people also use it to make other forms of food, like noodles.
Question 2: Do you think people nowadays accumulate unnecessary appliances or equipment in their homes?
Absolutely, yes. This is because the increased availability of these appliances is causing residents to buy things they don’t really need. You can find other appliances just being used once per month or year, such as solar panels. I can identify them as the most useless thing, as sometimes they cannot even be switched on for years, because electricity nowadays is in good shape, different from in previous days.
Question 3: Where do most people in your country prefer to shop for household items, in local markets or shopping malls?
I belong to a third-world country. In other words, it is quite expensive to purchase items from shopping malls as our economy is considerably low. Our national currency is cheaper in the global market, so this makes the environment inside the shopping malls look unfriendly to low-income people. Instead, the local market appears to be friendly to us as the equipment is affordable.
Question 4: Some people believe that higher-priced goods are of better quality than lower-priced ones. What do you think?
In my opinion, people are confusing these two scenarios as it depends on what you’re buying. I mean, which brands are popular locally? As the world tends to value famous branded items like Nike and LV, obviously, the price will be higher than non-branded products, regardless of their quality. So sometimes, low-priced items mean insufficient quality, but mostly, they come with the meaning of a low brand.
Question 5: Many teenagers today spend a lot of their time playing video games. Is this beneficial or harmful, and why?
I think it has a beneficial impact on teenagers as it could make them more stressed. Video games have the outcome of entertainment as they produce dopamine in the body, so they make youths feel satisfied, and that keeps them away from street violence, such as house robberies. During the FIFA virtual video game tournaments around the world, during the time when people played in Brazil, they recorded that no crime had been committed during that time, so it had a huge effect on the younger generation’s daily lives.
Question 6: What do you think about the importance of technology in the workplace?
Simply put, without technology nowadays, nothing can be done in our workplaces. Technology makes it smooth for clients, and it aids workers in keeping records of their customers, as they store them on online platforms like Gmail, so they will not fade easily.
