Overall, the most favourite location for emigration remained Australia each year, while the least popular countries for emigration are New Zealand and the USA as compared to other countries.
In 2004, more than 40,000 people chose Australia while nearly 35000 went for Spain. The individuals who chose New Zealand, USA and France remained roughly equal in 2004. ( around 22000). During 2005, people’s choice to emigrate to different countries remained almost similar to 2004 except for the USA and France. Migration to the USA decreased in 2005 compared to 2004 whereas For France it increased and reached more than 30000 individuals.
Emigration to Australia peaked in 2006, with more than 50000 people migrating there. Emigration to the USA rose in 2006, then in 2005,( nearly 22000) while for Spain, New Zealand and France it reduced than 2005. For 2007, the number of emigrants decreased for every country compared to the past year.
