Sample Answer of The Main Purpose of Public Libraries is to Provide Books

Libraries are the treasure house of knowledge. However, according to the changing needs of people, libraries will become paralyzed in the absence of modern technology such as CDs, videos or computer software. I completely agree with the statement as people are up to date, literate and of course, it is a need of an hour.

First off, libraries provide material to the learners who visit these; but researchers, pupils, and ordinary people are not satisfied with the traditional form of imparting information. Modern people are more updated, so they feel the need for technology to get instant answers to their queries, and that is possible only if public libraries are equipped with the latest technology. For instance, getting information either for research purposes or entertainment is now a herculean task for the people who visit libraries and spend a lot of time searching for particular information; consequently, they waste a lot of time and the important information they don’t get in one library. Thus they move one library to other. Here, software or hi-tech media can assist in finding information at one click. It is a hassle-free activity. Now people can search on Google, YouTube etc.

Furthermore, a library, which is the fuel of books but devoid of electronic gadgets, cannot fascinate the readers and that sometimes becomes a real cause of the decline in the number of people’s visits. So, multimedia can allure masses to visit libraries more and more as these don’t cost people an arm and a leg because people need to spend only a small amount on purchasing membership of the library. So, I think multimedia resources make public libraries famous in society. In this way, people visit more and instead of wasting their time, they spend it in a productive way.

Inconclusive, To my mind, if public libraries are equipped with cutting edge technology, then they will not lose their popularity as more and more masses will visit. Moreover, it has become indispensable for the survival of public libraries to turn them into modern ones’.
