The pie charts below compare the proportion of energy capacity in gigawatts (GW) in 2015 with the predictions for 2040.Sample Answer: The Pie Charts Below Compare the Proportion of Energy Capacity in Gigawatts

The first pie chart depicts the information about how many percentage of energy was produced in gigawatts from various renewable resources in 2015. At the same time, the second one illustrates the prediction for the same for 2040.

Overall, it is clear from the two charts that fossil fuels have the highest energy capacity and will also have the largest capacity in future.

To initiate with, more than half of the energy was produced by fossil fuels that accounted for 64%. However, the percentage of energy from wind and nuclear sources was almost 15 times less than that from fossil fuels. The amount of energy that was produced by solar and other renewable sources was 2% and 23%, respectively.

In contrast, the generation of energy through fossil fuels is expected to decrease by 20% in 2014. However, only 12% of energy will be produced by wind, which would be higher than the energy which will be produced by nuclear power. The proportion of energy from solar sources will lead to vast differences, ranging from 2% to 8%. Other sources will produce almost the same amount of energy that was produced in the past.
